Many of our customers return several times a year with their families to target the variety of species that migrate in and out of the Chesapeake Bay. Our corporate outings provide a perfect opportunity to build lasting business relationships or simply enjoy a unique team build experience on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, aboard a first-class Chesapeake Bay Charter Boat operation.
Our crew takes pride in maintaining all fishing tackle to the highest standard, as well as keeping the 50-foot Wound Tight in immaculate condition. We are excited to introduce our new and returning customers to the brand new, 50-foot Wound Tight.
The Boat
The new 50’x16’ Wound Tight was delivered in September 2018 and combines the style of a custom Sportfisher with the stable platform of a custom Chesapeake Bay Deadrise Charter Boat. As soon as you approach from the dock you will be immediately impressed by the sheer size of this boat. The Wound Tight is far from the traditional narrow, low freeboard Chesapeake Bay built boat. Her roomy cockpit measures 20’ long by 16’ wide, which easily makes the Wound Tight the most spacious Chesapeake Bay Charter fishing boat in our area.
Twin 500 horsepower Cummins Diesel engines easily push the Wound Tight to speeds over 20kts, which means she has no problem reaching the fishing grounds before the rest of the fleet. The engines rest below deck, keeping engine noise to a subtle level and the efficient electronic engines make diesel exhaust smell nonexistent.
As you enter the climate-controlled salon you will find a galley area to starboard. This is the perfect place to make a sandwich inside while keeping a close eye on the action out back in the cockpit. Forward of the galley is the state of the art helm station featuring a Furuno Radar, GPS Chartplotter, Fishfinder as well as ICOM marine VHF radios. These are all vital tools that ensure your Chesapeake Bay Charter Fishing Trip is as safe and successful as possible.
If you’d like to take a break from the action you can have a seat at our roomy dinette seat, located to port, inside of the salon. We designed our aft salon window to allow for an unobstructed view between the dinette and cockpit, so you don’t have to miss any of the excitement while you recharge in comfort. Our dinette seats can accommodate 10 passengers.
If you make your way through the main salon, down to the lower cabin area, you will find a bunk area adjacent to the separately enclosed bathroom (Head). This isn’t your usual cramped head. We don’t recommend it, but you could easily fit 4 people in this room at one time, just to give you the idea. The additional bunk area provides additional seating space for up to 6 passengers.
